Our Purpose:

Living Hope Community Church will purpose to grow as a Christ-centered community committed to being relevant in worship, discipleship and service.  We will strive to demonstrate God’s love in the Wenatchee Valley and the world.

Our Vision:

As a Christ-centered community we believe God has invited us to participate with Him in building His Kingdom.  Therefore in obedience to Him we envision:

  • Becoming an educational center for younger families through small groups, Bible classes, seminars, retreats, recreational activities, and parenting workshops.

  • Welcoming 500 people or more into our church family.

  • Creating a facility that is user friendly for younger families.

  • Equipping His people to reach out to the downtown community and the rest of the valley through service.

  • Sending three teams per year on short-term mission projects and providing training for long-term missionary careers.

  • Using all forms of communication, the arts, and our facilities to maximize our effectiveness in reaching those we serve.

We commit ourselves and our church community to fulfilling this vision by the powerful and enabling grace of God.

Our Values:

Each church has defined or undefined values that move it along in its existence. We at Living Hope believe it is necessary to define clearly those values we hold dearly. We believe the values we define must reflect God’s values given to us in His Word. As long as our church is guided by the values that God has for the church, we can claim with confidence that we are following and serving Jesus Christ.

  • People without Christ are important to God, therefore, they are important to us.    Matthew 28:19-20; II Peter 3:9

  • Genuine worship can be meaningful to both believers and non-believers. I Corinthians 14:23-25

  • Life changes and loving relationships best occur in the church through small groups.    John 17:20-23; Romans 12:3-5; Hebrews 3:12-14; Philippians 2:3-5; Ephesians 4:11-16; Colossians 3:12-17

"We don't make it alone, we make it together

in the body of Christ"

  • Pastors and church leaders mobilize, equip, and release believers to serve in their area of giftedness.   Matthew 28:18-20; II Timothy 2:2; Ephesians 4:11-16; Matthew 10:5-10;  I Peter 4:10-11; I Corinthians 12, 14; Acts 1:8.

"Not one minister, but all ministering"

  • Church membership means commitment to Christ with our time, service, finances, and prayers.    Matthew 22:37-40

  • Excellence honors God and inspires people.   Romans 12:1-2; II Corinthians 1:12; I Corinthians 9:24-27

  • Biblical unity is affirmed by embracing the diversity within the Body of Christ.   I Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:3-6, 16

  • Global Impact is a natural by-product of a healthy church. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; II Corinthians 5:17-21; II Corinthians 2:14-17.

"A vision as big as the harvest"

  • Our church should continue to grow until everyone in Wenatchee is fully devoted followers of Christ.       II Corinthians 2:14-17, 4:18-20

Our Strategy:

We believe the end purpose of Christ’s work in our life is "to develop fully devoted followers of Christ." We desire before God to be intentional about making disciples. We have identified some core characteristics on what we believe to be the biblical basis for a "fully devoted follower of Christ." These characteristics take a life time of following Christ to develop in a person’s life. A "fully devoted follower" of Christ will:

  • Embrace Christ as Savior and Lord. This will be evident in the follower’s life by an on-going identification of unsurrendered ground in their heart to Christ. Romans 8:5-17, Galatians 5:16-26

  • Identify with Christ by baptism. Matthew 28:19-20

  • Grow in their relationships with Christ through spiritual disciplines. This will be evident in the follower’s life by a consistent time with God in worship, bible study and prayer. Psalms 63:1-8

  • Participate in mentoring circles and small groups. This will be evident by cultivating in-depth discipleship relationships through mentoring circles and small group studies. I Thessalonians 2:8, John 13:34-35

  • Serve in their area of giftedness. This will be seen by the follower exercising one’s gifts and talents to serve Christ in the body of believers and to non-believers.  I Corinthians 1:1-9, Mark 10:45

  • Give out of their God-given-resources. This will be evident in the follower of Christ by their desire to share their financial resources with the body of Christ.   II Corinthians 9:6-7.

  • Develop redemptive relationships with non-believers. This will be evident in the follower’s life by purposefully reaching out to lost friends with the gospel and equipping others to tell their story. Matthew 28:16-20, II Timothy 2:2

  • Possess a worshipful heart. This will be evident in the follower’s life by a growing desire to praise, give thanks to and adore the One True God of the universe. Matthew 22:36-40

  • Enjoy a spirit-driven life style. This will be evident in the follower by a deep desire to follow God’s leading and join Him in His kingdom building work.       Acts 16:6-10

We believe a "fully devoted follower of Christ" grows in these character qualities as they continue to depend upon Christ in their life and relate to His body, the church. All ministries and programs of our church will be designed to encourage, train, and teach these character qualities.
