Building Use Procedures

Living Hope Community Church-CMA

The following procedures are designed to ensure the safe use of our church building. Many people and different ministries use our building so it is important that we all follow Living Hope’s building use plan.

Anyone having a key to the building must follow this plan.

1.                        If you unlock it make sure as you leave the building you have checked to ensure that it is re-locked. The building has nine separate outside doors. Keeping the building locked during or after an event is a problem, but it can be done by making sure event exits that have been used and those which haven’t are checked before exiting the building.

2.                        Open only those doors nearest to your event. If you are using the upstairs for your event please do not leave a basement door open during your event. We have experienced at times when doors go un-attended guests from our neighborhood visit our church building unattended.  Use signs on other entrances to direct people to the nearest door of your event.

3.                        If you have been given a key, do not give it to another person without our office manger being informed.  Churches always have a problem with keys and knowing who has them. When you are given a key we expect you to be responsible and it is only for you to have. Giving it to another friend or family member without permission is not helpful to our church ministry. They must know how to use the building based on our procedures and be signed in so our insurance will cover their event if something would be damaged during their use.

4.                        Return keys to the church office once your event is complete. If you have a special project or event once that event is over we need you to return the key to our office manager, Hope Snow.

5.                        If you turn it on make sure you turn it off. Our church community is trying to maximize the energy use of our building. Your help is greatly needed. Please turn off all lights you have turned on as you leave the building. Many times light will be turned on by those attending an event so it is important to do a walk through as you leave the building to ensure all lights are turned off.

6.                        Turning heat or air on. If you turn it on please make sure to turn it off or back to the setting it was on after use. For those needing to use our heat or air you must meet with our office manager or one of our staff to go over proper uses and learn where the thermostats are located.

Please sign both copies of this procedure below and return one copy to our church office before you use the building.  All events must be cleared by the office manger’s master calendar.
